WHITEPAPER: TOP FIVE VIRTUALIZATION MISTAKES

This paper walks readers through the top five virtualization mistakes that can leave a network vulnerable to attack and complicate disaster recovery plans..and presents solutions for each of them.

Sneak Preview:
"In the same way that an operating system flaw can compromise every application running on that operating system, a flaw in the hypervisor can potentially compromise every virtual machine running in a hardware system. Because of this, it's important for companies to develop a security strategy that addresses the risks associated with the hypervisor itself, particularly as it interacts with the network."

     ZIPTIE OPEN NETWORK ALLIANCE
AlterPoint recently announced the formation of the ZipTie Open Network Alliance, a community of like-minded technology vendors committed to promoting open manageability and interoperability of multi-vendor networks.

What it means to you.....from the pen of Dave Roberts...

"As the leader in Linux-based networking, Vyatta feels strongly that users are best served by open solutions that promote interoperability and encourage innovation," said Dave Roberts, vice president of strategy at Vyatta. "As users exercise the option to deploy Vyatta on standalone hardware, blade servers, and inside virtual machines, the content generated through the ZipTie Open Network Alliance will provide the perfect complement to help them manage the resulting network infrastructure."

 VYATTA FUNNY PRINT ADS

If you are new to Yatta Yatta, this is the section where we have some fun.  We feature concepts for off-the-wall advertisements that are submitted by users and the Vyatta team.

Once again we have received a batch of community submitted ads that are very funny.  And we managed to throw in a few of our own too.  This month we've got ads based on The Matrix, tricycles and the good old days.

"Our experience was that Cisco was relatively fragile, and Vyatta just worked. Now, if a router does go down, I could drive over to Best Buy, pick up a box, drag it over to the data center, plug it in, and have it running."

Vyatta is the only commercial router, firewall, VPN solution that can be run in virtual environments.  This means that Vyatta can be deployed along side your favorite applications as an extra layer of security or as multiple instances on one server to manage multi-user deployments.
