Yatta, Yatta - The Vyatta Monthly Newsletter

<BLUSH> IT'S AN HONOR TO BE MENTIONED </BLUSH>

Its an interesting challenge to work for a small company that is taking on such deep seated giants and challenging the status quo.  When I first started here 16 months ago I though that we would need a huge marketing budget to run print ads in all the major pubs, do dozens of tradeshows and build a team of marketing professionals.  I quickly realized two things:
1.  That wasn't an option :(    2. The Vyatta user community is so vocal that you'll  help us spread the word...and its amazing how much you do for us. It's your influence that recently got Vyatta on the Linux Magazine Top 20 Companies to Watch and added to the list for the Linux Journal Readers Choice Awards. (don't forget to vote)

Keep up the blogs/posts/mentions in 2008 and lets continue to chop away at Cisco's dominance by showing the world that open-source is the future and Vyatta is the open-source solution for their networking needs.

As always, if you have questions, suggestions, ideas, wants, needs, gripes etc - tmccafferty @ vyatta.com

"The company isn't quiet about taking on the big C, and why should it be? Open source companies have never been shy about taking their commercial counterparts to task. But that's not why we like them.  We think Vyatta is a company to watch because it has a compelling technology, and because its offerings appeal to companies that don't have a Cisco-sized budget. (And to companies that do, but would prefer to save the money for other things, like salaries.)
