Yatta, Yatta - The Vyatta Monthly Newsletter

IT'S THE SOFTWARE

The freedom of being a software vendor is creating opportunities for Vyatta all over the networking landscape. From virtualization and x86 platforms to cloud computing, Vyatta's ability to deliver routing and security independent of proprietary hardware has become an industry-changing technology-shift.

That freedom is evident in our new VSPL service provider licensing model that is designed to offer xSP partners a way to license Vyatta networking software on a monthly basis. Take a second and let that sink in...what used to be bound up in an upfront expense to deploy proprietary hardware is now available as software in a model that can offer a near immediate return on investment for MSPs, SaaS, and cloud providers.

As always send questions, suggestions, ideas, wants, needs, gripes, etc. to tmccafferty @ vyatta.com.

VYATTA CEO INSIGHTS
An inside look at the Vyatta vision straight from the top.

Networking's Software Era
Software-based networking enables all of the above via two fundamental advantages. First, it's adaptable; no other method gives you hardware independence and architectural freedom.  Old proprietary boxes are boat anchors by comparison.  And second, it allows for innovative pricing models to fit the new economic requirements of services-based IT strategies like cloud.

Cisco Makes Mainframes
Yes, UCS is a black-box approach and one which some customers will elect to follow.  But it is the exception for modern systems architectures, not the rule; and the meaningful key to this distinction is
'standard components.'  The mere existence of standard components implies...well...standards.  And standards imply customer choice and vendor heterogeneity, not technical lock-in.

   COMPETITIVE UPGRADE PROGRAM

Competitive Upgrade -  Save 15% with your Cisco Quote

Have you recently considered Cisco but were shocked by the price? Just in case being an average of 50% or more less than the cost of Cisco ISR/ASA/ASR is not enough incentive, we'll give you an additional discount if you choose Vyatta over Cisco.

For a limited time, send us a copy of your quote for Cisco equipment and we'll give you an additional 15% discount on Vyatta software subscriptions or hardware appliances.

"
What’s really overdue is some actual innovation & disruption. Entrepreneurs & VC’s need to look past the last round of failures & 1997 business models and fund a next generation of networking. Vyatta is about the only serious attempt trying to change the game with its Networking version of Red Hat on Intel x86."
