January 2011
2011 is clearly shaping up to be another banner year for Vyatta. We've already announced that we'll be showcased in the InteropNet network and looking forward into the not too distant future, we will be announcing more major customer and partner relationships. We've got a new version of the Vyatta Network OS on tap for this quarter and some other surprises as well. I've never been more excited about the networking industry and the opportunity that Vyatta has to change the way that networks are delivered, consumed, priced, provisioned, managed, packaged, sold, billed, (add your unique use case here). The on-demand nature of Vyatta's software approach to delivering core routing and security technology is changing the world - aren't you glad that you are a part of it?
As always send questions, suggestions, ideas, wants, needs, gripes, etc. to feedback@vyatta.com

GARTNER SLAMS CISCO SINGLE VENDOR NETWORKS - ADD VYATTA
As outlined in this Network World Article, Gartner Group has definitively proclaimed that CIOs who go with an all-Cisco network thinking they're streamlining operational costs are actually throwing money away.
The report concluded that there is no financial, operational, or functional basis for the argument that a single-vendor network simplifies operations and lowers TCO. The shot through the heart came out like this: "We did not encounter one example where operational cost savings would offset the equipment cost premium that Cisco generally charges."
