Kelly Herrell, Chief Executive Officer

As CEO and member of the Board of Directors, Kelly provides the strategic leadership and vision for Vyatta and drives it through to rapid execution. Kelly has a proven track record for growing companies based on open source in the systems, embedded and telephony industries. Before joining Vyatta, Kelly was the SVP of Strategic Operations at MontaVista Software, the world's pre-eminent embedded Linux supplier, where he led the strategic focus into telecommunications equipment and mobile phones. Today operators around the world such as NTT DoCoMo have network infrastructure and tens of millions of mobile phones in use that are based on MontaVista Linux. Prior to joining MontaVista, Kelly was Vice President of Marketing for Cobalt Networks, the dominant provider of open source-based server appliances for web hosting. After helping drive the company growth through an explosive IPO and beyond, he played a key role in driving its successful $2.3B merger with Sun Microsystems. Previous to Cobalt, Kelly was VP of Marketing for CacheFlow (Nasdaq: BCSI), directed worldwide marketing for Oracle's database products, and served in various product- and market-focused roles at NCR, Teradata and AT&T. Kelly holds a Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Marketing from Washington State University, and an MBA from Cornell University.

Robert Bays, Chief Technology Officer

Robert has been working in the networking industry since 1994. Prior to joining Vyatta he was the CTO at InfiniRoute Networks providing optimized long haul VoIP transit to international long distance providers. InfiniRoute was the genesis of a merger with his previous company, Proficient Networks, where he was a co-founder and held the role of Chief Scientist designing Internet route optimization technology. Before joining Proficient Robert held Senior Network Engineering roles at Telegis and Digital Island.

Michael Fox, Vice President, Services and Operations

As vice president of services and operations, Michael is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, and he brings over 20 years of industry experience to the task. Prior to Vyatta, Michael was at carrier Ethernet solutions provider Atrica, where he served in a variety of roles. As managing director and general manager of Atrica Systems and Services India, he was responsible for Atrica's entire operation in India and supported the design, deployment, and operation of the world's largest Ethernet project, covering the entire country of India. He also served as vice president of business development and consulting engineering, where as the company's third US employee he was at times responsible for all field functions. Prior to Atrica, Michael spent over seven years at Nortel Networks (Bay Networks/Wellfleet) where among several roles, he served as vice president of customer advocacy, responsible for the company's "Customer for Life" initiative, and vice president of systems engineering, technical marketing, and knowledge management where he had global responsibility for both carrier and enterprise functions. Prior to Nortel's acquisition of Bay Networks, Michael served in a variety of executive management roles at Bay Networks and Wellfleet Communications. He also spent eight years in the LSU Office of Telecommunications, architecting and managing voice, data, and video communications services for the LSU System and the State of Louisiana. Michael has a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from LSU, and attended the MIT Sloan School.

Greg Frazier, Vice President of Sales

Greg brings more than 25 years of sales leadership experience to his role as vice president of sales at Vyatta. He is known for building world-class sales teams and exceeding aggressive business and revenue goals. Prior to Vyatta, Greg was vice president of worldwide sales for Reactivity, an XML gateway provider acquired by Cisco in 2007. At Reactivity, he was responsible for developing and expanding the company's sales team and channel programs worldwide. Prior to joining Reactivity, Greg was vice president of sales at Crosswalk and Mirapoint. During his career, Greg has held senior sales management positions at Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems, Engineering Animation and Silicon Graphics. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Georgia.

Tom Grennan, Vice President, Engineering

Tom leads the engineering team at Vyatta. Combined with his unbridled passion for Linux, he brings with him over 23 years of software development experience, and prior to joining Vyatta was the VP of engineering at Teak Technologies. Prior to Teak, Tom was Director of Mid-Range Platform Software Development at Cisco Systems. Tom is credited for the development of the 7200/7300 routing and other advanced technology platforms. Previously, Tom was the Founder, President & CEO of AYR Networks, Inc., a company dedicated to developing open source software for high-end routers and switches. AYR was later acquired by Cisco Systems in October 2002, and subsequent to its merger Tom championed the integration of AYR and Cisco's IOS technologies. Previously, Tom was Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems and is credited with leading the development of key innovations in NetFlow Switching and Data Export, Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF), Distributed QoS, Parallel Express Forwarding Processor (PXF/Toaster), 7600 Optical Service Module (OSM), and the 7500 Versatile Interface Processor (VIP). Previously, Tom had spent a number of years in R&D and engineering management positions with Hitachi Computer Products, Pitney Bowes, and Sperry. Tom holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.

Anatoly Kaplan, Vice President of Engineering Operations

Anatoly Kaplan brings more than twenty years of software development and project/program management experience. Prior to joining Vyatta, Anatoly was Vice President of Application Development for IntelliRisk Corp where he was responsible for building next generation BPO Service system. At Proficient Networks, Anatoly was Vice President of Engineering, responsible for delivering network appliances for IP network optimization. Before that, Anatoly was Vice President of Software Engineering & Integration for Terawave Communications, an industry leader in multi-service optical access platform. Previously, Anatoly was Director of Software Development for Premisys Communications responsible for Network Management Systems and integration projects. Anatoly also led design and implementation of various software based products and services for MCI Communications, British Telecom and other major carriers. Anatoly holds a PhD from St Petersberg University, Russia.

Dave Roberts, Vice President Strategy and Marketing

Dave has almost two decades of experience in networking, computer engineering and strategic product development. Prior to his current role as Vice President of Strategy and Marketing at Vyatta, Dave was the co-founder, CTO, and Vice President of Strategy at Inkra networks where he provided the product and strategy direction that captured a tier-one customer base including IBM, EDS, AT&T, and NEC. Prior to Inkra, Dave was Vice President of Product Management for Nortel Networks, responsible for product strategy and definition related to the company's line of Layer 2 and Layer 3 Ethernet switches and campus ATM switches. Additionally, Dave forged key strategic alliances and OEM relationships. Dave has also held management positions at Bay Networks, Rapid City Communications, Cabletron Systems, and ZeitNet, Inc., where he spearheaded Gigabit Ethernet and ATM product lines and strategic marketing initiatives. Dave began his career with engineering positions at Hewlett-Packard. Experienced in numerous networking and software technologies, Dave holds five patents, with more pending, and is the author of three books. Dave holds a B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
